MM 12-7 to 12-10, Rotax Maintenance Manual: Performed mechanical synchronization of the carburetors and started the engine. The idle speed was running high around 2800 RPM and shut the engine down. Turned the Idle Speed Adustment Screw counterclockwise in increments and got the idle RPM to 2500. Warmed the engine to over 122 degrees Farenheit and ran the engine to 4000 RPM and checked the ignition switches. From 4050 RPM with both Ignitions A and B ON the RPM dropped to 3890 with Ignition B Off. RPM was 3860 with Ignition A Off. The drops are within limits. The systems seem to be fine but I need to lower the idle speed to around 1650 to 1800 RPM but will do this at another time. There were no oil or fuel leaks noted.
35-06: Removed the newspaper and tapes around the main gear legs that were placed to protect the aircraft from overspray. Cut four 2-inch pieces from 1/2 inch diameter clear tubing and placed around the F-1289D Caliper Brake Lines and secured with tie wraps. I replaced the original ones which have become dirty.
