49-17, PAP G4-1, Rotax SI-912-018: Repositioned the VA-214 Oil Cooler Hose to reduce the twisting of the sleeve. Installed the cowl bottom and there is no problem with the Oil Cooler Guides fitting in the slots. Rechecked the oil lines and connections and they are correct. Assembled the Oil Purging Kit that I got from California Power Systems and I could not make it work. The regular that came with it seems to have a leak and I could not get a pressure reading. I jury rigged connections with my air compressor which has 3 pressure regulators in series. Removed the bottom spark plugs, cleaned the threads, applied silicone conductive paste to the threads, reinstalled them and torqued to 180 in lbs. Removed the to 4 spark plugs to make turning of the prop easier. Disconnected the VA-215 Oil Return Hose from the Oil Tank Assembly and plugged the IN opening of the tank. I did not put the end of the Oil Return Hose below the engine since it is already secured to other parts of the engine. Connected the tube from the compressorr to the oil tank vent and applied 15 PSI of pressure. Turned the prop more than 60 times and I did not see oil drain from the VA-215 hose. Repeated the process a few times without success. Added oil to the oil tank to keep the level within the recommended range. Will try purging again later. I put a total of 4 liters of Aeroshell Oil Sport Plus 4.
Rechecked the brake line fitting to the right U-1203 Inboard Main Gear Attach Bracke and noticed a small trace of hydraulic fluid. Re-tightened the AN 816-4D fitting some more.
