Brief Description:  Painted Fuselage Pins, cleaned aircraft surfaces

30-02: Cleaned the WD-1217 Fuselage Pins some more using acetone, primed them and then painted with Cardinal Gray paint.

Sanded the cloudy part of the Moeller Gauge faceplate and applied 2 coats of clear nail polish. The gauge is now more readable.

Removed more vinyl film form the top of the wings and cleaned the surfaces with acetone. Also cleaned the bottom of the H-Stabilator, part of the Tailcone and part of the left wing. There is a lot of dried adhesive and I used a combination of Goof Off gel and acetone to remove it.

23-06: There are 2 holes (1 on each side) in the F-1270 Fuselage Side Skins that have no rivets and are covered with sealant. I had reviewed the plans but I didn’t see instructions on what to do with them. In fact, they are not in the drawings. The holes can’t be riveted because they are blocked by the F-1295 Side Skin Stiffeners. I did not want to drill holes in the stiffeners because I’ll hit the angles which could affect the structural integrity of the stiffeners. Removed the sealant from the holes, cleaned with acetone and applied JB Weld gray epoxy.
