Brief Description:  Work on Fuselage Pins and Canopy Fairing

30-02: Removed the WD-1217 Fuselage Pins to clean them up in preparation for painting. I’ve put a lot of grease on them before because they were rusting. Removed the magnets from the WD-1217C Fuselage Pin Stoppers since I had replaced the Reed switches with mechanical switches. Also, the epoxy in the pin stoppers never stuck to the inside of the tube and was getting extruded. Filled the small holes in the Pin Stoppers with fuel tank sealant. Cleaned the Fuselage Pins with acetone as best as I can. Further cleaning is needed prior to painting.

34-15: Sanded the edges of the Canopy Fairing that “blend” to the Canopy and Canopy Skirts. Then removed the electrical tape protecting the Canopy and the skirts. There was a lot of residue from the tape which I removed with Plexus spray. There are some spots with dried epoxy that had leached through the electrical tape. The Plexus spray does not seem to work on it. Will work on them later.
