Brief Description:  Pitot/Static system work, replaced Aux Music Jack

47-02: Removed the Pitot Tube to see if the leak is coming from the hole which I caused during fabrication. The hole was covered with RTV and did not seem to leak. Anyway, I removed the old sealant and replaced with fresh red RTV sealant.

PAP G5-1: Tried injecting air directly into the pitot line and there is still a big leak. Therefore, the problem must be at the connection to the ADAHRS. Will work on this later since I want to use new fittings which I have to order. Prepared for the static system check by placing play dough around the left static opening with one end of a clear plastic tubing underneath the play dough. The static opening on the right side of the fuselage was taped. Applied suction to the plastic tube until the altimeter read about 2000 ft above field elevation. The leak was so low that it took 1 hour and 41 minutes for the altimeter to read 600 feet. The static system clearly passes!

34-15: Applied epoxy resin microballoon mixture to the low areas and small holes on the Canopy Fairing.

31B-07: I got the new Aux Music Jack to replace the existing one. The new jack is too big for the existing hole. Enlarged the hole to 11/32 to accomodate the new jack. Inserted the pins from the Aux Music Jack wires into a ES-00044 Molex Plug. Pulled the shielded 3-wire harness that I had placed above the Panel Base yesterday through the tunnel. Stripped the insulation and crimped female microfit pins (ES-00046). Inserted the pins into a ES-00045 Molex Plug. I will connect the other end of the harness directly to the GTR 200 backshell. Per Garmin rep's comment in the VAF. net forum, this will improve the sound a lot. The wires from the harness were inserted in the following slots of the Molex Plug: WHT/RED to position 1, WHT/BLU to position 2, WHT to position 3, YEL/GRN to position 4.
