Brief Description:  Troubleshooting Pitot System leak

Looked at the suggestions on fixing pitot/static system leaks in the VAF.net forum. Tightened the plastic fittings on the ADAHRS and it did not help. Removed the screw that secures the pitot tube to the plastic pitot block behind the prop. I put RTV in the screw hole and re-installed the screw. This did not help either. Disconnected the nylon fittings that connect to the ADAHRS and applied thread sealant and reconnected the fittings. On retest the leak was worse. Removed the fittings again and found the pitot line was fractured at the area where the metal collar tightens on the line. Cut the damage part of the line and reconnected the fitting. The leak is much worse and there is no recorded airspeed if air is injected slowly in the Pitot Tube. Not sure where the problem is and I wonder if I had enlarged the hole in the Pitot tube. I inadverdently drilled a small hole during fabrication but I sealed it with RTV sealant. Will work on the system again tomorrow.
