Brief Description:  Checked fuselage wiring

31A-04 to -07 and 40-05: Went over Sections 31A (Wing Electrical Interconnector Update) and 40 (Lighting) to find clues where the short inNav/Strobe system could possibly come from. I checked the wires at the wing root and verified continuity to the wing tip wires. Continuity was also present with the WH-B216 Terminal Ground Wires - as expected. Wire WH-B218 goes to the stall warner and there is continuity with the stall warning vane in the UP position. Looking at the pins in the ES-00078 and ES-00079 Floating 8 Pos Connectors at the fuselage and wings, I noticed that I don't have pins in Positions 6 in the Floating Connectors at the fuselage. This position corresponds to the WH-B212 Nav Power Wires at the wing connectors.

Page 31A-07 indicates that the B-268 wire that goes to Position 6 is for "D-180 Only". Therefore, I did not put pins in these positions. Removed the F-00032 Fuselage Side Covers and uninstalled the F-00034 Wing Electrical Brackets so I can access the floating connectors. Reviewed the RV-12 Electrical Schematic and it shows that wires L456 and L458 go to the left and right fuselage electrical connectors, respectively. I located these wires from the Tunnel and crimped ES-00079 Floating Connector Pins, and inserted the pins in position 6 of both fuselage connectors. The schematic also shows that wires L456 and L458 join to become the L439 wire which inserts in position 33 of the WH-00026 Optional Harness. The corresponding Pin 33 in the Options receptacle of the Control Module is Nav Power.

The pin in position 8 of the Left fuselage floating connector (P274) is testing postive for continuity but it connects to B184 and go to Ground. Pin 8 in the left wing coonector is for wire B203 (Strobe Power Wire).
