Brief Description:  Drilled holes in Canopy Fairing, assembled latch

34-10: Installed a thin plastic washer (0.032 inch thick, from Fastenal) between the Canopy Handle and the Canopy Frame. This works much better that the one supplied by Van's. I can now easily latch and unlatch the Canopy.

34-16: Removed the tapes securing the Fairing. The fit is not perfect but it looks acceptable, at least to me. Filed and sanded the forward part of the Fairing to allow opening of the Canopy without interference from the Fuselage. Drilled holes (2 each side) into the aft part of the Fairing (through the Canopy) and re-installed the screws. Widened the holes in the forward arm of the Fairing (pivot point) to about 13/16 per the plans. First used a knife and then a small expanding drum (with sand paper) connected to a rotary tool. Applied an epoxy/flox mixture to fill gaps between the Canopy Foams and the Fairing.
