Brief Description:  Nose gear installation

It's official, she's a nose dragger! I sure haven't been in the shop much with all the holiday doings... but I finally got a little time to install the nose gear. With the obscure manual, it sure is a challenge to get all the little parts painted in the proper build order sequence, no big deal really. I installed the bungee, seems like a really light and elegant solution. I also appreciate the flat roller bearing on the top of the gear. This ensures that when the gear is fully extended, or unloaded in flight, the gear will rotate smoothly on the bearing, giving the rudder an unobstructed feel. There is also a small bolt securing to red, round bumpers so that in the event that the bungee were to break, the rubber bumpers would provide a safe limit, a little give, and a rolling effect that would allow decent steering to get back to the hanger. I polished the fork to match the main gear, I really like how it looks. We'll see if I keep it that polished when I start flying ;-)

The manual does provide adventures! The limit bumper stop bolt was not in the chapter, but clearly depicted in the exploded parts view. Apparently this is another excellent impovement to the design that hasn't made it to the manual. I also discovered after putting a really thick, glossy coat on the gear leg, that the paint had to be sanded down to allow free movement in the plastic bearing cup. Finally, things got MUCH better when I added grease per Valter's instruction. That was not mentioned in the manual either...
