Brief Description:  Chart holders

It feels good to be building again! I decided to take a little break from the painting process, besides the temps have been below and some above the freezing mark so I didn't have much choice anyway. Although my shop is heated, when I run the exhaust fans to paint, it pulls in so much outside air that I am basically painting at outside air temperature. So...

Out came another bag of parts! Apparently these pieces were originally simple covers for the exposed rudder cable in the cockpit along each wall so the occupants wouldn't get their feet, bags, or anything else on the cables. Some smart cookie realized there was a little bit of space to be utilized, which is golden in a little airplane! An interior box like structure was designed to form two cool little chart or checklist holders. Brilliant!

Each piece was deburred, the part number stickers where removed and written in sharpee for the feeble of mind, then a trial assembly with clecoes to confirm I'd understood the construction vodoo properly. All went well. The parts were dissassembled, then each joint was treated with the anti-corrosion primer. After drying overnight, reassemble and riveting. I haven't used the rivet gun in a while, very rewarding :-)
