Brief Description:  Rudder

Its good to be back! After a delay to update my "state of the art" aircraft manufacturing facility (aka: the garage, pics to follow), I managed to get the rudder ready to finalize. Dad and I riveted the frame together, then clecoed one skin on in order to stabilize it. After much thought and research, I've decided to go with "overkill" on anti-corrosion treatment. Although not necessary unless the aircraft is on floats or operated in a salt air environment, I figured I'd take a few simple extra steps for a large gain in durability. I'm using the anti-corrosion paint supplied by ICP on all the joining surfaces. Once the frames are riveted together, I plan on paint the framework assembly with zinc phosphate to protect the entire internal structure. The inside of the skins will not be treated. The exterior of the plane will be painted of course which all in all ought to give me a long lasting result... especially in the humid environment of West Texas ;-)))
