Brief Description:  Headset Jacks

Success! I really don't enjoy soldering, not sure why, just seems tedious to me. I guess my soldering iron felt my lack of joy and managed to burn the snot out of one of my fingers. Turns out you really should grasp a hot soldering iron by the barrel when you are upside down and shift it in your hand without looking, who knew??!! Steinair.com rocks! I ordered my wire, jacks, and watched their videos to learn how to wire up my headphone/mic jacks. I installed the jacks in the baggage compartment behine my head and the co-pilots head to keep the cables out of the cockpit. I had to lay under the belly of the plane to wire up the ends, then install them. It was really cool to put on my headset and turn on the avionics master switch... Ms. Savannah talks to me now! As the EFIS powered up I heard, "Low Oil Pressure" and the warning flashed on the screen. I keyed my handheld aviation radio and heard it in my headset so all that mysterious wiring behind the panel managed to correctly connect my radio stack to the intercomm and the headsets. Yay!!!
