I finally got this last piece painted. After MUCH internal debate, I finally decided to mount the heated pitot probe (the heat is necessary for IFR use) on the wing strut inspection panel under the wing. I made a new cover using the old one as a template, but I used material that was almost twice as thick to ensure a good, stiff mount. Plus is will be simple to check/change/whatever any of the connections to the probe. This Garmin GAP 32 probe also has the secondary, AOA sensing line to report back to my EFIS. This should give me a very precise AOA reading on my EFIS for those really short approaches ;-)
