Brief Description:  Elevator Trim

Installed the pitch trim tab. Had trouble finding the instructions in the manual, finally found it in the special "controls" section under "anti-balance tab." The translation from Italian can be very interesting! I had to give Valter a quick call as I was surprised the tab sticks out about 1/2 an inch further than the elevator. Fortunately he said this was normal, should be covered up by the plastic tips anyway... I had a tiny amount of rub on the inner side, Mark Hancock mentioned in his kitlog that he had gotten the advice to tap the metal in gently with a hammer, worked like a charm.

I'm still not completely satisfied with my trailing edges. I borrowed a really good hand squeezer for the solid rivets, but my technique is lacking... about 1 in 3 or 4 rivets squeeze a little sideways, it leaves a dimple or wrinkle in the skins when that happens. I realize its cosmetic, but this is my baby after all! We'll see what I can live with. I defintely want to improve when I get to the wings. I looked back at my rudder and don't like how wavy the trailing edge is, I'll need to do some more research on technique, I wonder if it would help to clamp a stiff straight edge on both sides before I rivet?
