Brief Description:  Paint schemes and paint selection

Feeling more and more confident with this whole paint thing, I keep thinking about color selection and stuff. It appears that there are single stage metallic or pearl colors that are really slick. Knowing that I'm looking at Duponts commercial/industrial/truck type paints, start to hunt around and see that there is a pearl/mettalic red and orange that look great! My paint guy can get this stuff IF I can tell him what I want. Dupont Imron Elite is what I was focused on but Imron 5000 and 6000 series seems to be what I'm looking at. He suggests going to see "Robbie" at a local truck painting shop to see if he can help.

On the web, I see the Kenworth trucks has this as an option:

which happens to be on a used truck being sold around the corner from me, very nice. The true color is a bit different than the Web pic but close. It seems to be a single stage paint (no clrear top coat). Alicia loves this color but I'm hoping that the metallic/pearl orange is equally compelling. Orange goes with the Tigressa theme which is also a school color and mascot.

I'm also understanding that a single stage metallic requiires less work but is less forgiving of mistakes. Something else to ask Robbie about perhaps.

The search continues.

I continue to sand the cowling - it's coming along.
