Holidays have taken a toll on my barracuda work although waiting for a ply shipment from AC spruce has been the biggest set back . The last couple of weeks I have been developing this plug or mold to create a transition from wood to fiberglass at the aileron hinge points . My primary goal is drag reduction and this piece will allow a flush fit for the hinge covers . The raised ribs of the plug are set 1/16 below the aileron skin profile to account for the glass thickness - since I only need six pieces and will later be blendeded and finished with and into the skins it doesnt have to be perfect. Outboard of the ribs or raised area the skins will be bonded too , inside will be cut out for the hinge relief abit a 3/4 inch flange which will be used to secure southco or dzus fasteners for the cover plates.
