Brief Description: Finished riveting and rolled the elevator leadings
I finished up the last of the last of the rivets next to the trail edge and close out areas. I was able to get in and squeeze or pull everything except the ones closest to the trail edge. Just not enough room to even get the thin nose squeezer in there. I opted to use the small pull rivets, same as the rudder. For the leading edges I used the same PVC pipe as from the rudder, but I had to drill a new hole pattern. I use clecos and gorilla tape to hold the skin to the PVC pipe and then use vice grips to rotate the PVC pipe. I tried to do all the leading edges at the same time, so it was challenging to get the skin rolled enough. Cyndi helped hold down the elevator while I worked to roll the skin. Even after removing the clecos, I couldn’t get the skin rolled enough, so I had to come back and hand ben it some more. Maybe I need to use a smaller PVC pipe, but it’s done now.
