Brief Description: Rivet front spar and stringers to HS skins (8-13)
Now that I have all the ribs in the right locations it was time to start riveting the front spar to the skins. I added some tape to my bucking bar to keep it from marring the spar and my hands. I also added a popsicle stick and tape just below the rivets. This way I could lay the bucking bar down on the popsicle stick right behind the rivet so then I just need to focus on pounding the rivets. This worked well, and I only had to drill out a few in some of the tough to reach places. I did have to get used to trading hands (bucking bar vs. rivet gun) depending on the location and angles. I proceeded to completing the stringers. The challenging part on the stringers is the underside, where you can’t see anything, and you must do it by feel. Anyway, next step is to finish up the rest of the ribs. Most interesting development, I found out tonight while handing candy out for Halloween, someone noticed I was building an RV-10 in my garage. Turns out he is also building a RV-10 and lives just around the corner from me. He's also about the same point in the build...how cool is that. :)
