Brief Description:  Rivet Ribs and fwd spar for HS (8-13)

I spent most of this past week trying to right the wrongs I had made the previous week. I initially noticed that the nose ribs were not in the correct position, so I had to drill out all the rivets for 4 of the nose ribs (3 ends and one middle. I managed to drill out all 38 rivets….very slowly and very carefully. I’m now getting pretty good at it. I start with a small drill bit…smaller than the #40 and try to keep it centered, then drill the #40 in just enough to pop off the factory head…then you can usually push out the remaining rivet. Once I had the center skeleton removed from the skins, I noticed I forgot to counter sink the stringers…so good thing I checked...oh, also, I saw that I had several of the main ribs in the wrong locations. Labeling doesn’t do much good if you don’t get them in the right spot when you label them. I’m not sure what I was thinking, but I managed to drill out all 12 #30 rivets (4 ribs) and get them in the right spot along with countersinking the stringers. I used my new single flute counter sink bit from Cleaveland, which took a little getting used to. It really takes a bite but yields a nice countersink. I’m reminded of a movie line “Government do take a bite, don’t she?” (Raising Arizona, 1987)
