I finished up the counterbalance and added the optional middle rivet since it was slightly pillowed. I’m happy with the way it turned out…well at least the counterbalance portion. I also added the remining rivets on the bottom of the rudder. I tried drilling out multiple time the trailedge bottom rivet, trying multiple techniques to set a solid rivet, but with no success. I ended up using the countersunk pull rivet on both sides. I even had to file down the first rivet on the inside in order to get a good set on the opposite side rivet (even using the technique described in the manual). I did purchase a thin nose yoke that helped with the second to last rivet. Overall, it’s not as bad as I thought it would look. There’re just a couple dents where the gun slipped, but otherwise I think it will work. Now just waiting on the parts for a round two rudder. In the meantime, I’ll build on.
