Brief Description: Primed Elevator Skins and Stiffeners
I hung the elevator stiffeners on a wire and sprayed three light coats of primer. While the stiffeners were drying, I cleaned the inside of both right and left elevator skins with soapy Dawn and a scotch brite pad. I rinsed with distilled water and blow dried the skins. I final cleaned with a lint free cloth and Lacquer Thinner. I mixed up a small batch of Zinc Chromate and reducer one to one, set up my spray gun and shot two coats of primer to the inside of both skins. Let everything dry overnight and start back riveting the stiffeners tomorrow.
