Brief Description: Debur Rudder Stiffeners and Match Drill
I started the day by deburring the cuts I made to all the rudder stiffeners. I used a flat vixen file to debur the taper cuts and moved to my 6" 3M cut and polish wheel to smooth all the edges. I next layed the right skin outside down on a piece of mdf and lined the stiffeners up with the holes in the skin. Drilling the first hole carefully through the stiffener and skin into the mdf, I was able to put a cleco into the hole and keep the skin flat to the mdf. I proceded down the line from stiffener to stiffener until all the holes were match drilled. I repeated the steps for the left skin. I sat down and deburred all the holes. Using the pneumatic squeezer, I dimpled all the stiffeners. With help from my son Reino, we dimpled both rudder skins on the DRDT. Next week looks good for priming the vertical stabilizer parts and the rudder stiffeners.
