The rear canopy slide rail consists of two parts C-762 and C-763 match drilled and riveted together to hold the C-661slider block that guides the canopy as it slides back. Following DWG 43 section H-H, I clamped the two pieces together and started to match drill the rivet holes for AN426 rivets. After deburring the holes, I countersunk the holes on both sides so that when you rivet it is flush on both sides. I bent C-762 to match C-763 and clamped together. I drilled the rivet and screw holes. I also countersuck these holes except the bottom screw hole that will have a nut. Disassembled, cleaned and primed the pieces. Backed riveted the assembly together using AN426-3-6 rivets. I placed the completed assembly on top of the fuselage. I marked the location for screws on the canopy slide rail that would secure the rail to the fuselage. I drilled and countersunk these holes for AN507-6R10 screws. Later I will match drill the rail to the fuselage once I have the final location confirmed.
