Brief Description: Prime Wing Skin, Ribs and Bevel Edges
I cleaned and primes the left wing skin and rib flanges as I had done on the right wing. Now I needed to bevel both the bottom outboard W-705 and inboard W-704 wing skins where they overlap to create a smooth transition as shown on DWG 12 section E-E. I layed the right outboard skin on my workbench and used a Vixen file to do the rough bevel and then switched to a 3" scotch brite disc mounted on my die grinder to work the bevel back on the skin about an inch. Then I did the same with the inboard skin already on the wing. The scotch brite disc gave me a nice smooth finish. I cleaned and primed the areas where I had removed material. I repeated the process for the left wing. Next I needed a way to secure the two plastic pitot and AOA tubes so that they would not interfere with the aileron bellcrank in the left wing. I decided to use a Click-N-Bond tie wrap mount. I scuffed the area with a scotch brite pad and cleaned. I mixed the adhesive and secured the mount to the underside of the upper wing skin just outboard of the aileron bellcrank.
