Brief Description: Rudder Cable Link Fabrication and Installation
DWG 37 shows the F-6119 rudder cable link that I will have to fabricate from 0.050 4130 x 1/2" stock. The length of the link varies with the rudder pedal placement so I measured and came up with a length of 5/8" from hole to hole. I may have to vary the length once I have the seat installed and the final rudder pedal distance is determined. I cut the 4 pieces of 4130 to length and and drilled two 3/16" holes 5/8" apart clamped together in my drill press. I deburred the holes and rounded the ends of the links to 1/4" radius. I cleaned and primed the 4 links. The links attach the rudder cables to the rudder pedals with AN23-10 clevis bolts, AN960-10 washers and AN310 castle nuts. I installed the links and hand tightened for now until I have the final rudder position determined.
