The supporting structure for the instrument panel and forward top skin several plates and angles that need to be fabricated. Reviewing DWG 24 Upper Fwd Fusalage-Sliding Canopy shows the dimensions and materials for fabricating the various pieces. I started with the F-7109 Plate, cut it to size on my bandsaw and deburred the edges. I will drill the holes later. Next was the F-721C attach angle made from AA6-125 x 3/4 x 3/4 angle cut to 20 5/8" long. One end has 29/32" of flange removed with a 1/8" radius and then bent up 25 degrees. Two F-721C attach angles are made from AA6-063 x 3/4 x 3/4 cut to 1 9/16" length and then bent inwards to 88.5 degrees Holes will be drilled later. Two F-721C angles made from AA3-032 x 3/4 x 3/4 cut to 1 1/8" length and then bent inwards to 72.6 degrees. Two F-793 angles made from AA3-032 x 3/4 x 3/4 cut to 3 1/8" length with a radius cut out on one flange to clear the eyeball vent. Last one F7108C angle made from AA3-032 x 3/4 x 3/4 cut to 2". All the pieces were deburred. Later I will match drill the holes to the structure, clean and prime and install the platenuts were called for.
