Brief Description: Preparation of Flap Brace and Aileron Gap Fairing
I clecoed the flap braces and the aileron gap fairings to the wing aft spar. I match drilled the rivet holes to both #30 and #40 as called for in the plans. I removed the parts and deburred all the holes. Next I dimpled the rivet holes that attach to the wing skin with my hand squeezer set. I checked all the edges to make sure they were smooth before priming. I washed the parts with Dawn and a red scotch brite pad and rinsed with distilled water and hung to dry. After drying I cleaned the surfaces with acetone and hung in the sun for priming. I used Sherwin Williams GBP 988 self ectching primer and sprayed several light coats and let dry in the sun. Tomorrow I will rivet the parts to the wing aft spar.
