Brief Description: Optional High Pressure Fuel Pump Fit
I purchased the optional Airflow Performance high pressure electric fuel pump kit from Van's. I studied the drawing OP-21 to have a good understanding of how to install the pump and the modifications I would need to make to the standard carbureted setup. I will need to modify the center cabin floor cover to fit the F-7115A bottom cover that holds the fuel pump assembly. First I will make the fuel pump cover. I deburred the parts as usual and clecoed the the cover together. I match drilled all the holes to number 40 drill. I deburred the holes and clecoed the assembly back together to check the fit to the floor and fuel selector cover. I marked the holes that I would need to drill in the fuel selector cover and the fuel pump bottom cover to hold the pump cover in place with screws. Next I disassembled the fuel pump cover and cleaned for priming. I primed using a can of self etching primer and set aside to dry. While the primer was drying, I marked and trimmed the fuel valve selector cover according to the instructions and drawing OP-21. I riveted the fuel pump cover together and set aside.
