Brief Description:  Installed Access Ports on Bottom of Fuselage

Used the soldering iron to melt an opening around the right side aileron pulley. Melted out the opening for the 1032 anchor nuts on the right side access panel and the fabric over the wing light plug. Also cleaned up the fabric around the cables for the tail wheel control.

Cut two small oval patches and glued one to each wing stub centered over the expected location of the aileron cable penetration of the vertical fabric. Glued a 2 X 3 inch patch on the bottom of the fuselage in front of the tail wheel cable penetrations. Added a triangle patch of fabric on the inside and glued it over the angle brace for the rudder post. Cut four circle patches from scrap fabric for use in covering the access port rings. Installed four rings along the bottom in locations which allow for inspection of the control cables. Each location was marked with a pencil and then the plastic ring was glued at the marked location. A fabric patch was centered over the ring and glued in place.

Set the large iron to 350 degrees and ironed the right side fabric for the last time. Continued around to the left side for three sections before running out of the work day. Ironing of the remainder of the left side and bottom is left for the next work day.
