Brief Description:  Completed Wiring of the ADS-B System

Installed five nylon clamps on the tubing from the GPS unit to the terminal blocks. Measured each of the leads from the GPS to their termination points on the terminal blocks and cut the leads to length. Placed a label on each lead and a length of heat-shrink tubing. Crimped a forked terminal on the end of each lead and then set the heat-shrink tubing on the terminal. Mounted the power lead to the terminal for power and the ground lead to the ground terminal on the block. Installed the Comm lead from the GPS to the terminal for the Comm 2 RX from the echo unit. Applied three sets of yellow wire wrap to the leads around the terminal blocks. Installed two nylon clamps to the yellow wrapped wires and one nylon clamp to the wires on the right side of the terminal blocks.

Measured out the length of the red power wire from the echo unit to the circuit breaker location on the instrument panel for the ADS-B circuit breaker. Cut the wire to length. Slid a label on the power wire to the echo unit along with a 5/8 inch length of heat-shrink tubing. Removed 1/4 inch of insulation from the end of the wire and then installed a crimp terminal. Used a heat gun to set the label and the heat-shrink tubing over the terminal. Mounted the wire to one side of the 3 amp circuit breaker. Located the red wire from the avionics buzz and slid a label and heat-shrink tubing on the wire. Removed a 1/4 inch length of insulation from the end of the wire and installed a crimp terminal. Set the label and heat-shrink tune on the terminal and mounted it the second terminal of the ADS-B circuit breaker. Mounted the circuit breaker into the instrument panel and left the breaker open to prevent powering up the system until the antenna is installed.
