Brief Description:  Installing the Control Module for ADS-B System

Removed the broken temperature probe from the fuselage side. Installed the new probe and mounted it in place. Removed the broken probe wire from the leads from the G meter/clock and removed 3/16 inch of insulation from each of the wires. Tinned the ends with the soldering iron. Slid each wire into it's splice and crimped the ends to complete the connections. Checked the G meter/clock for the temperature screen which did not come up. Checked the joints and connections but could not find any issues. Will have to use pins to check the continuity of each of the leads.

Mounted two terminal blocks vertically between the first two lighting holes on the left side of the baggage area. Secured the ground lead from the emergency battery to the fuselage below the ADS-B unit. Marked the ground lead at the point which it would be connected to the terminal block. Cut the ground lead at the mark and installed a crimped terminal on the ground wire. Mounted the power lead from the instrument panel to the top terminal on the block. Mounted the ground lead to the second terminal on the block. Mounted the echo unit to the left side of the baggage compartment with two #6 X 1/2 inch wood screws. Installed the wiring harness to the bottom of the echo unit and measured out and cut each of the wires from the plug. Removed the wiring harness and installed labels on each of the wires. Removed 1/4 inch of insulation from each of the wires and then tinned each lead. Installed forked terminals on each of the wires and then covered each terminal with heat-shrink tubing all set with a heat gun. Put the wiring harness back on the echo unit and connected each of the leads to the appropriate terminals on the terminal blocks.
