Brief Description: Design Work on Brake Peddle Linkage
Choose to use heal brake peddles for brake activation. Also decided to provide duel brake peddles for the left and right sides. Checked the travel length on the master cylinder arm at about 8 tenths of an inch. That was a workable distance for the use of the heal brakes and a one to one linkage configuration. Starting from the heal brake peddle drew a diagram of the direction of motion for the necessary linkage to connect the brake peddle to the master cylinder. Several layouts were drawn and discarded in arriving at a workable design. The challenge was to provide a simple interconnection between each set of peddles and the respective master cylinder. The resulting design used L and T brackets to complete the linkages.
