Brief Description:  Completed AOA Vane Wiring and Belly Patch

Filed the inside of the AOA fairing to allow the pot to slip into place from the bottom of the fairing. Stripped 1 inch of insulation from the AOA signal cable and pealed back the grounding shield and wrapped it around the base of the insulation. Rapped a 2 inch long segment of electric tape around the ground wire and cable. Removed 1/8 inch of insulation from the end of each of the three wires of the cable. Applied flux to each wire end and then tinned each end. Applied flux to the three terminals on the pot. Connected a wire from the signal cable to each of the terminals on the pot by soldering them in place. Slid the fairing down over the pot and installed the end cap on the pot. Installed the two 2 1/2 inch #6 machine screws to clamp the fairing to the wing strut.

Removed 1 inch of insulation from the other end of the AOA signal cable and rolled the grounding shield into a lead wire. Slid the base of the plug down on the cable along with a 2 inch segment of heat-shrink tubing. Applied flux to the end of the ground lead and tinned the lead. Slid a 3/8 inch segment of small heat-shrink tubing on the ground lead. Placed the plug into the clip to hold it in place and tinned each of the four leads on the plug. Placed the ground wire on the right plug lead from the index when facing the front of the plug. Soldered the ground wire to the plug lead and after it cooled slid the heat-shrink tube down over the connection. Removed 1/16 inch of insulation from the remaining three wires of the signal cable. Applied flux to each end and then tinned them. Installed a 3/8 inch segment of small heat-shrink tubing to each of the wires. Soldered each of the wires to the plug. Slid the heat-shrink tubing down over each connection and set in place with the heat gun. Slid the 2 inch segment of heat-shrink tubing down over all of the connections and set it in place with the heat gun. Screwed the plug casing down onto the plug and tighten the cable clamp on the end of the case.
