Brief Description: Installed Wet Compass and IPad Holder
Installed three #8 screws in the altimeter with locking nuts. Mounted the wet compass in its opening and installed the top strap over the aft mounting post. Secured the front end of the strap to the top of the instrument panel with two 1/8 inch pop rivets. Cut a small arrow shaped washer and fitted it over the aft post. Drilled a 3/32 inch hole center on the strap about 5/8 inch from the post. Placed the point of the arrow washer in the hole on the strap and tighten the aft screw holding the compass in place and oriented correctly. Created a label for each of the compass light wires and placed them on the wires. Cut the ground wire to length and crimped a terminal on the end. Placed a 3/4 inch heat shrink tubing over the terminal and secured in place with the application of heat. Repeated the process with the power lead for the compass light.
Drilled the four mounting holes for the IPad mount in the center of the instrument panel. Installed one of the #8 mounting screws and found that they were too long and extended too far out of the face of the mount. Created four washers from scrap 3/32 inch aluminum plate. Installed one washer under each mounting screw and secured the mount with locking nuts.
