Brief Description: Anchor Strip Installation on Landing Light Lens
Marked the center of four 5/16 inch by 5 inch strips of light aluminum. Marked the center and then marked the center of each segment for a total of three marks on the strip. Repeated the marking on the remaining three strips. Drilled each of the marks with a 11/64 inch drill. Mounted a #8 anchor in each of the holes with two 3/32 inch pop rivets for each anchor.
Fitted one of the anchor strips along the lower edge of the lens and marked the over hang on each end. Cut away the excess metal. Repeated the process for the other edge and another strip. Applied a light coat of silicone cement on the anchor strip, aligned the strip on the edge of the lens and clamped the strip in place. Set aside to dry. Prepared the second anchor strip and glued it in place on the other edge of the lens.
