Brief Description: Insrtalled Platform Over Bottom Wing
Constructed two frames from the wing stands to support a platform over the bottom wing. Screwed a 2X3 by 8 feet between the uprights at 66 inches above the floor. Added a 4 foot 2X3 to one side of the upright to stabilize the vertical on each of the frames. Laid three 2X4 by 8 foot boards between the frames positioned in front and back of the wings. Placed an 18 inch wide by 8 foot long plywood plank on top of the 2X4's to complete the platform.
In attempting to mount the platform it was found to be too high. Unscrewed each end of the cross members and lowered them by six inches. Crawled onto the platform with a length of safety wire and pliers and completed the safety wiring of the top right aft lift cable turnbuckle. Replaced the access panel on the wing and slid back down off of the platform. Removed the plywood and 2X4's and slid the frames next to the fuselage. Unscrewed the cross members and raised them up by about 4 inches. Put the 2X4's and plywood back on to the frames under the right wing gap to support the installation of additional screws along the bottom of the cover. That will occur during the next work day.
