Brief Description: Finished Top Right Wing Gap Cover Installation
Put the drill with a 1/8 bit on the platform under the top right wing. Laid on the platform and drilled an 1/8 inch hole on the cover strip about 18 inches from the front edge of the wing. Installed a #10 pan head screw 3/8 inches long through the cover and into the lower wing rib at the end of the wing. Continued to about the center of the wing and installed another #10 screw. Moved to the trailing edge of the wing and installed another #10 screw about 12 inches from the trailing edge of the wing. Installed a screw through the bottom cover and the overlap from the top cover about 4 inches from the trailing edge of the wing. Installed a second screw through the bottom and top covers and into the trailing edge of the center wing section. Slid the wing access covers over the top edge of the wing gap cover.
Removed the platform from the upright stands and moved the frames to the left side of the airplane. Put the platform back in place under the left aft lift turnbuckle. Installed a safety wire on the turnbuckle by laying on the platform and wrapping the wire around and through the turnbuckle. Removed the platform and slid the frame next to the fuselage to prepare to install the top left wing gap cover. A project for the next work day.
