Brief Description:  Completed Mounting of Lower Right Wing

Continued sanding on the front strut lower wood saddle to allow for alignment of the mounting bolt through the wing cross brace. Slid the strut in place and test fitted an AN3 bolt without any success. Recheck the alignment and tried the bolt again keeping it level and was able to complete the fitting. Removed the bolt and fitted the tye down bracket in place over the strut end. Again worked the alignment and after the third try was able to get the bolt through the tye down bracket and the strut. Fitted the second AN3 bolt through the tye down bracket and the cross brace. Tighten both bolts using the self locking nuts and checked that at least three treads were showing.

Aligned the wing with the wing stub and test fitted the wing onto the mounting points. The aft spar appeared to fit close enough for the mounting bolt to fit. The front spar did not fit close enough for the bolt to fit. After several tries it was determined that the front edge of the wing stub was going to have to be reduced by 1/2 inch or a bit more. Cut the fabric along the nose of the wing stub where the bend would be required. Pealed back the fabric over the aluminum edge. Used the angle grander to notch the material back to the bend line in five or six places around the nose of the wing stub. Bent the aluminum tabs back around the nose. Test fitted the wing back on the wing stub and checked the mounting hole for correct alignment. Found that the alignment was correct for mounting. Pulled the wing back from the wing stub and glued the fabric back in place at the nose of the wing stub. Trimmed away the excess fabric so the nose would fit smooth. Applied a length if 3 inch tape around the nose of the wing stub and glued it in place. Allowed the glue to dry and then ironed the tape in place around the nose of the wing stub. Painted the patch with gray primer. Slid the wing in place on the front spar and installed a 1/4 inch ball pin through the spar assembly.

Aligned the holes on the aft spar and installed an AN4 bol
