Brief Description: Started Mounting the Lower Right Wing
Installed a AN3 bolt in the aft spar on the top right wing. Tighten the self-locking nut on the bolt to secure the aft spar to the airframe.
Configured the wing frames to support the bottom right wing. Ron Hanes helped me move the lower right wing from the rack to the wing frames. Lined up the frames to support the lower wing in line with the wing stub. Adjusted the height of the lower wing until it was nearly level with the right wing stub. Raised the end of the wing up until the wing struts were touching the fabric. Moved the struts into the cutout areas for each of the struts. Raised the aft end of the wing until the strut was seated on the cross member. Aligned the holes and installed a AN3 bolt through the strut and wing cross brace. Tighten the self-locking nut on the AN3 bolt securing the strut to the wing.
Slid the front strut into the wing. Discovered that the slot for the tie down bracket hadn't be cut into the bottom of the wing. Used the soldering iron to melt a slot into the bottom of the wing to accept the end of the tie down bracket. Slid the tie down bracket in place and attempted to install one of the two AN3 bolts to secure the tye down bracket in place. Had lots of problems getting the holes to lineup. After about 45 minutes of trying to get the bolts in place call it quits for the day. The forward strut and tye down will be connected tomorrow.
