Brief Description: Building the Lower Left Wing Tip Bracing
Installed two 1 inch angles on the outer wing rib about 1/3 down the rib and the second about 2/3 down the wing rib from the main spar. Created two 1 1/4 channels with 1/2 inch sides cut to fit from the main spat second rib to the first brace on the outer most rib. The second channel is cut to fit from the aft spar second rib to the cross brace on the outer rib second brace from the main spar. Each of the channels are secured in place with two 1/8 inch pop rivets at each end. Installed two segments of 1/2 inch aluminum pipe between the angle braces on the rib and the wing tip. The bracing is secured in place with two 1/8 inch pop rivets at the angle braces. A gusset is added at each point where the brace joins the wing tip. Two 1/8 inch pop rivets are installed on the top and bottom of each gusset and one 1/8 inch pop rivet is installed on the end of the gusset into the wing .tip.
A length of 1/2 inch aluminum pipe is attached to the trailing edge of the wing from the aileron to the end of the wing. A gusset is installed around the trailing edge at each rib down the wing securing the trailing edge to the wing.
