Brief Description:  Begin Cutout of Lower Left Wing Aileron

Used the angle grander with a thin cutoff disk to cut the top ribs next to the aft wing spar on the four ribs from the wing tip. Took one W28 strip and bent it 90 deg using a leather hammer to form a angle. Placed the angle on top of the ribs extending down onto the aft spar. Installed a 1/8 inch pop rivet in each of the five ribs from the tip. While the angle completed the wing edge in front of the aileron it was not as smooth as I wanted. Decided to take the remaining 15 W28 strips to the EAA Chapter work shop and use the 48 inch breaker to form a set of smooth 90 deg angles for the remaining wing and aileron edges.

Designed and formed a light bracket to be installed in the wing tip. Tested fitted the bracket and marked areas on the bracket where material should be removed and bends adjusted to fit the wing tip. Installed the bracket with three 1/8 inch pop rivets in areas where the fabric would not touch them. Used the sanding wheel to smooth all edges of the bracket.
