Brief Description:  Final Fitting on Right Side Cockpit Plywood

Fitted the right side cockpit plywood to the fuselage. Found a couple of problems. The embedded tab for the instrument panel was too big and covered the same space as the oil pressure gage. Trimmed the bracket back to fit around the oil pressure gage and filed smooth the edges. The second issue was the aft end of the plywood didn't set low enough due to the step brace. Removed 1/2 inch of material at the top of the cutout for the step brace. Also removed a 1/4 inch crescent shape segment from the aileron cable path to keep the cable pulley clear. Tested fitted the plywood and everything fit.

Used the solder iron to melt the cable paths through the patch on the fabric. Routed the tail wheel cables through the slits in the fabric. Cut the end of the fabric up to where the tail wheel brace penetrates the fabric. Fitted a short segment of fabric tape over the split in the fabric from the brace to the end. Glued the tape in place and left it to dry. I will finish sealing the bottom during the next work day.
