Brief Description:  Continue Construction of Seat Frame

Measured across the fuselage at frame F13. Cut a segment of 1/2 inch steel pipe at the length required. Ground each end to fit the frames. Marked the height for the front of the seat and spot welded the pipe in place. Measured the space across the seat from the center and cut a segment of 1/2 inch steel pipe to fit. Ground the ends to fit the 1/2 inch pipes and spot welded the cross member in place. Marked the height of the seat on the angle braces (F14) in the fuselage sides. Measured the space across to the angle braces and cut segments from 5/8 inch steel pipe to fill the space. Ground each pipe segment to fit across to the angle brace and spot welded each pipe in place. Marked the position of each brace on the front seat frame and then measured the distance to the side of the fuselage. Cut each brace from 1/2 inch steel pipe and ground each end to fit the fuselage side and the seat frame. Spot welded each brace in place.

Completed the tig welding of each of the joints around the seat. Clean each weld with a steel brush and inspected for completeness. Welded any areas that were not fully filled in. Completed a final cleaning with the wire brush and wiped down the steel pipes with acetone and then painted the seat with black primer.
