Brief Description: Adding Tabs for the Firewall Attachment
Measured and cut tabs from 1/8 inch steel plate to provide mounting points for the attachment of the firewall. Tig welded a tab in each corner of the front of the fuselage. Welded a tab to the cross brace near the center of the diagonal. Drilled and taped each tab with a 1024 tap.
Constructed four braces for the rudder frames from 1/2 inch aluminum tubes. Heated the ends of the tubes and flatten them. Ground the ends in an oval and drilled a 3/16 inch hole in one end of each tube. Mounted the tubes to the rudder frames and positioned the tubes over the aft mounting points on the foot channels. Drilled the tubes to mount with the channels on the aft tabs completing the braces for the rudder frames.
