Brief Description:  Installed the Leather Roll on the Front Cover

Marked the line for the grommet holes on the leather back side. Measured out 7/8 inch from the grommet line and marked the cutoff line. Cut away the excess leather. Folded over the leather edge by 5/8 inch and lined up the opposite side grommet and marked the location. Used the leather punch to cut a 1/4 inch hole through both layers of leather. Installed a grommet in the new hole and installed a cleo in the hole with a aluminum washer. Marked the next grommet's position on the other side and then installed a grommet. Installed another cleo with aluminum washer to keep the alignment straight. Continued to mark each grommet's position and install a grommet on the blank side until all grommets had a matching grommet on the other side.

Mounted the leather cover over the split rubber hose which was slid on the edge of the front cover. Installed a leather lace through the grommets and the holes in the cover. Found that the lace would not work through the grommets on the reverse direction with the size of the holes in the cover. Pulled the lace back and relaced the leather cover by sliding a loop of the lace down through each grommet. At the last grommet of the leather cover brought the end of the lace back through the loops drawing up the lace tight and putting a half hitch at each loop. Tied the ends of the lace together and then applied rubber cement to the knot and loose ends. Trimmed the rubber hose back a bit on each end. Trimmed the excess leather on the ends and folded back the leather. Applied rubber cement to the back of the leather on the ends and then rolled the excess leather back under the rubber hose on each end.
