Brief Description:  Finish Latching System

Made new "arms" for the latching system. Others did not fit well. New ones fit nicely! However, after getting everything where it is supposed to be the next step was to drill the end collars for a AN3 bolt. The end collars came predrilled so after everything was lined up, I carefully marked their positions and then took rod assembly to drill press to drill 3/16" hole. Easy enough and then reinstalled to make sure all pieces fit and worked. One thing I did not think much about was where the bolt would be in the collars after installation. If you look closely at the pictures, you will noticed that the bolts in the collars. The head of the bolts is not visible because it is under the seat back support piece. There is not much room under this piece and if you dont drill the bolts at a 90 degree angle from the longerons, then when you unlatch the canopy as the rod rotates the head of these bolts rub on the inside back of the upper seat support. So I may be redrilling mine. Otherwise, everything works like it is supposed to work. Canopy frames latch and unlatch using inside control rod or outside using exterior handle. Next will be taking everything back apart and cleaning it up for painting and then reassembly.
