Brief Description:  Drill nose gear and doubler

Drilled bottom plate on nose gear. This took some time to make sure measurements where correct and everything was in the right place. I drilled all 6 holes in the plate and then clamped it to the doubler to line it for drilling. This took some time as well since I wanted to be sure the gear was centered and aligned correctly. Once I got it where I wanted it, I used a 1/4" ceneter punch to mark the holes in the doubler. Then it was jus t a matter of drilling all the holes in both pieces. I sat the nose gear on the doubler and held ny breath as each bolt was inserted. Five of them fit jsut right and one took some hand screwing to get it to drop into place. I will measure and drill for axle tomorrow and if time permits, get nose wheel mounted. I am waiting on lowerf bearing to arrive from Zenith since one of my holes in the bearing was not to my satisfaction. Important note: You do not want to have to get another lower nose wheel bearing!!!!!! I did not feel to bad about having one hole slightly misaligned until Joyce at Zenith told me the lower bearing cost $160. I wiill not make this mistake again (I hope).
