I started by mounting the avionics stack together. (I had built a support with nut plates for one side of the stack during the construction of the first panel.) With everything to size, I started sneaking up on the final size for the hole.
After the hole was to size, I started the pondering on how the heck to cut the hole in the sub panel. Both radios are so deep they need to fit through the back sub panel. I want to cut as little as possible and then add extra support. The canopy hinges are supported by this structure. (I have Googled other tip-up panels and just about everybody ends up modifying the sub panel)
