This evening, I started cutting out avionics hole in the panel. The actual cut was pretty simple. I just used a jig saw to cut the shape. Figuring out exactly where to cut the hole took all the time. I want the avionics as close to the panel support rib as possible. I also want it the same height as the Dynon screen. (Which needs to be spaced correctly with the switch circuit board.)
After cutting the rough size, I started filing it to the correct size. (I should have cut it closer to the correct size. I ended up having to file about an eighth of an inch off the sides and top!)
