Brief Description:  Control Cable Attach

I spent a good portion of my hangar time this evening pondering the throttle, mixture, and carb heat cables. The plans call for 4 cable connections on the engine control bracket. This would be simple if I had a constant speed prop. (I don’t) So, originally, I was going to put the throttle, mixture, carb heat, and cabin heat all on the bracket. The more I thought about it the less I liked the idea. I don’t want to accidently pull the cabin heat instead of the carb heat. I could mark it so it was very obvious… but I often pull carb heat without looking.

I debated moving the cabin heat far to the right… but in the end, decided to just put three cables through the bracket. I will probably put the cabin heat farther to the right on its own bracket. I’ve also been debating where to put the emergency air intake knob. I’m thinking over to the left and back under the panel a bit. I want to be able to get at it easily… but not by mistake.

Since I’m only putting three knobs on the bracket. I decided to trim it down a bit. So, I smoothed the edges a bit and gave it a bit of a curve. I think it looks nice.
